This pendant lamp by Casa Padrino is built on a quatrefoil, the old cloverleaf form of ornament. Four gold-coloured arcs and four angular projections interlock to form an open frame that shows the same silhouette from every side.

The frame is pierced, not closed. You look right into the interior, where four black fabric shades sit on a golden cross. The contrast defines the lamp: gleaming gold outside, matt black inside, which conceals the bulbs and directs the light downwards.

Because the frame stays open, the piece feels light despite its 68 cm width. It blocks no sightline and lets daylight through, whereas a closed body of the same size would divide the room.
